Certified Police Officer/Academy Graduate

POLICE OFFICER

Summary: Join our dynamic team as a Police Officer and make a significant impact on the safety of our community. For this particular opening, we are only interested in candidates who have graduated from the police academy or are already certified in Texas law enforcement.

As a Police Officer, you'll play a vital role in patrolling the city, responding to emergencies, and conducting criminal investigations to enforce laws and maintain public safety.

Responsibilities:

Patrol the city to prevent crimes and enforce laws

Respond to emergency calls, perform first aid, and CPR as needed

Direct and escort traffic, operate radar monitoring equipment, and issue citations

Investigate traffic accidents and crimes against persons and property

Question witnesses, take statements, and prepare reports

Serve warrants, make arrests, and appear in court as required

Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and maintain positive community relations

Conduct security checks of businesses and residential areas on patrol route

Assist ambulances and firefighters when needed

Prepare daily reports and perform other assigned duties

Requirements:

High school graduation or equivalent

Graduation from the police academy or current certification by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE)

Preferred: CPR Certification, First Aid Certification, and Automated External Defibrillator Certification

Valid Texas driver's license

Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws

Ability to read, interpret, and write reports

Effective communication skills

Analytical and problem-solving abilities

Maintain positive working relationships

Quick decision-making in various situations

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, run, and lift objects weighing more than 100 pounds

Specific vision abilities and good hearing

Adherence to physical demands of the job

Work Environment:

Work in various weather conditions

Occasional exposure to high, precarious places, traffic, chemicals, and potentially dangerous situations

Moderate noise level in the work environment
