Swimming Pool Requirements & Fence Permits
A permit is required for installation of in-ground, above ground or prefabricated swimming pools, spas, and hot tubs in either commercial or residential use.
Required Documentation:
- Building Permit (gallons must be included)
- Pool/Spa Agreement
- Official Site Survey indicating the property lines, proposed pool, existing fence, and pool equipment.
- Provide drawings and details of proposed pool (only underground)
Swimming Pool Process
- Submit application along with required documentation as listed above
- Pay fee once application is accepted and you receive notification
- Allow 3 business days for review
- Permit is approved
Fence Permits
Wooden pickets (privacy fence) and chain link fences require a building permit. Metal fences must be approved by the City Council before construction can begin.
Fence Requirements
- 5 feet from the curb
- 15 feet from the curb on corner lots
- Wooden pickets are not allowed on corner lots
- 3-6 foot height max on wooden and chain link
Fence Permit Process
1. Submit building permit
2. Permit is reviewed and priced by City Inspector
3. After payment, construction can begin (Permit is valid for one year)
