CITY ELECTIONS


The City Secretary is the Chief Election Official and is responsible for the administration of all city elections. The City of Lacy Lakeview conducts a general election on the first Saturday in May of each year. There are seven council members. Each council member serves a two-year term.

Candidate packets and an application for place on the ballot may be picked up in the City Secretary's Office starting on January 17, 2024.  The City Secretary's Office is located at 501 E. Craven, Lacy Lakeview,TX,76705, phone: 254-799-2458.



The next General Election will be held on May 4, 2024. All Mayoral and Council Members positions are At-Large. The following Mayoral and Council Members terms expire in May 2024:

Bruce Bundrant

Richard Lednicky



First day to file as a candidate is Wednesday, January 17, 2024.

Last day to file as a candidate is Friday, February 16, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. 



To be qualified to run for a place on the ballot, one must live in the city limits. Candidate filing period January 17- February 16
Last Day to Register to vote for May 7th Election April 4th
Early Voting April 22th- April 30th
Election Day May 4th

 



ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS PER CITY CHARTER (ARTICLE III, SEC.3.03)


  • United States citizen
  • 18 years of age
  • Registered voter of the State of Texas
  • Resident of the City of Lacy Lakeview or former City of Northcrest for one year prior to election

Per Election Code Sec. 141.0019(a)

  • Citizen of the United States18 years old

  • 18 years old

  • Have not been determined mentally incompetent by a final judgment in court

  • No felony convictions

  • Resided in the state continuously for the previous 12 months

  • Must satisfy any other eligibility requirements prescribed by law for this office
