Area Schools The City's children are enrolled in both the Connally Independent School District and La Vega Independent School District. Both school districts have a dedicated teaching staff available to Kindergarten through High School. The Connally school mascot is the "Cadets", named for Connally Air Force Base that existed in Lacy Lakeview years ago. The Connally ISD administration office can be reached at (254) 799-2426 and is located at 715 Rita St. The La Vega mascot is the "Pirates". The La Vega ISD administration office can be reached at (254) 799-4963 and is located at 3100 Bellmead Dr. There are three institutions of higher education in the area. Chartered by the Republic of Texas in 1845, Baylor University is 5 minutes south of Lacy Lakeview and it is the largest Baptist institution worldwide. A private University with an enrollment of over 16,000, Baylor offers undergraduate degrees in 150 fields, Masters degrees in 16 areas, and 6 Doctoral programs. McLennan Community College is 5 minutes west of Lacy Lakeview and offers Associate Degrees, with an enrollment of over 6,000 students. Non-credit continuing education courses are open to the public. Texas State Technical College borders Lacy Lakeview to the east. Approximately 4,000 students are training in programs ranging in length from 3 months to 2 years.
