Michelle Hicks began working for the City of Lacy Lakeview in 2003 as a utility clerk. In 2006, she became the Human Resource Administrator and served in that position for three years. In October of 2009, Michelle became the City Secretary for the City of Lacy Lakeview. Some of her job duties entail working closely with the mayor and city council members, maintaining good customer service for the water department, processing open records requests, and preparing and conducting city elections.
Michelle graduated from Waco High School in 1997. In the past several years, Michelle has received a certificate in Business Management. She will be graduating from MCC in the Spring of 2010 with her Associates in Business Management. She plans to continue her education and obtain a bachelor's degree in Business Administration by the fall of 2012. Michelle is a member of the Texas Municipal Clerks Association (TMCA), Central Texas Chamber of Texas Municipal Clerks, and African American Chamber of Commerce. She has recently become a board member of the McLennan County Health District and the Lacy Lakeview Chamber of Commerce.
Michelle has one daughter, DeAijha, who is 15 years old and attends La Vega High School. DeAijha is a wonderful student and active in sports, track being her favorite. She also participates in a summer league track program that has been to state for the last several years. She plans to attend college in Florida when she graduates.
The City has 46 employees and we strive to serve the needs of our citizens, visitors and business owners. We boast an extremely low crime rate, one of the lowest property tax in the County ($.35), and excellent schools in the Connally Independent School District. The city ISO rating is a 6.

The water department monitors the entire Lacy Lakeview water system from a computer system in the office. This will notify water personnel if there is any problem with the water system. Lacy Lakeview purchases water from the City of Waco . The city maintains a well system for emergency systems.
